Welcome to The Houston Forum
The Houston Forum is the community platform for the nation's fourth largest city. As a non-profit educational organization, it is uniquely a Houston product created in 1979 by the business and academic leadership. The Houston Forum is totally independent and free-standing.

Our Mission
The mission of The Houston Forum is taken from the words of our city's namesake, Sam Houston:
"...in the diversity of opinion democracy may rest securely."

Individuals invited to speak from our platform come from a diverse mix of backgrounds and experiences as the current schedule reflects. They speak from The Houston Forum's platform as it is considered one of the most prestigious venues in America.

The audiences who come to hear them are Houstonians interested in the free exchange of ideas and in living and working in a community that is open to our world.

The Houston Forum is returning to our schedule beginning in January 2009! After Hurricane Ike destroyed our offices--and most of our property--we are pleased to resume programming. With the difficulties facing many of us, the focus of this year's speaker program will be on giving you speakers whose knowledge and experience may have a direct application to your business. We encourage you to take advantage of these offerings and look forward to being with you again.
